Product Questions
Does the rack have brackets/cross-members that would allow for a roof top tent to be mounted? I'm looking for something that will allow for my RTT and a couple of light boxes to be placed on roof of my 4th gen 4runner.
Question by: Denny
Yes, roof top tents are one of our favorite accessories! The Toyota 4Runner (4th Gen) Roof Rack (KRTF051T) has the ability for a Roof Top Tent to be mounted . As for extra storage, it will depend on the size of RTT you install. For further information please feel free to give us a call.
Answer by: Front Runner
What is the total height of the rack above the roofline? From the specs section, it looks like the feet are 74mm tall + the 50mm of the rack itself, for a total of 124mm. Is this correct? Thank you!
Question by: Fred
The foot rail is 71mm and the rack is 50mm tall, together they should be 121mm. Accounting for spacers, the rack should rest very close to 125 mm. (or 4.9 inches)

Does the rack cover the sun roof of the 4runner?
Question by: andrew
Andrew, Yes. Our 4Runner rack does cover part of the sunroof when installed. Our roof rack is customizable and you can slide the cross-members out of the way of the sunroof if needed. -Bryan
Answer by: Front Runner
I currently have spoiler along with the gobi ladder and wanted to know if the rack would clear it. thank you. btw its for a 2007 Toyota 4runner.
Question by: Keak
Unfortunately we have not test fit these items to work together. If you are able to send us some photos and measurements we should be able to tell if there will be an issue or not. Thank you
Answer by: Front Runner
Do you make a full size rack for the 4th Gen 4Runner?
Question by: Tim
At this time we do not offer a full length rack for the 4Runner. There are no mounting holes forward of the sunroof. In order to properly secure a full length rack you would need to drill into the roof of the vehicle. Extending the rack forward without properly securing will cause extra wind noise, chattering, decreased load capacity, and even damage to the rack or roof.
Answer by: Front Runner
I would like confirmation that this rack will work with a 4th Gen 4Runner with the rear spoiler. I have a 2006 SE 4Runner with rear spoiler and want to have confirmed that this rack will fit appropriately.
Question by: Travis
The 4th gen rack kit will clear the spoiler without any issue. Thank you.
Answer by: Front Runner
Is there any latitude to adjust the rack position slightly forward on the factory mounts to allow clearance for a tailgate mounted ladder with the tailgate in the "up" position?
Question by: Jim
The holes on the bottom of the mounting brackets are slotted to allow for a little adjustment. Unfortunately it is hard to say if it will be enough or not with your ladder.
Answer by: Front Runner
What is max weight that can be held on rack?
Question by: Wade
The rack is rated to 660 lbs, but in order to know how much weight the roof itself can handle, you would need to check with the manufacturers specifications.
Answer by: Front Runner
do you make slimline 2 for the 3rd generation toyota 4runner 1999 model? if so, do you make full size racks for it?
Question by: Lex
We've adapted universal racks to that vehicle in the past. Unfortunately a 3/4 rack is the largest we can fit.
