Product Questions

Will this rack hold a Tepui roof top tent weighing 185 lbs?
Question by Antonia Sjoberg
Our Roof Rack Tray has a max load of 660 LBS and it lives to hold Roof Top Tents! (preferably Front Runner's - but any brand will work!) Please check with your specific vehicle manufacturer for the recommended roof load rating.
Answer by Front Runner
My WK2 Limited has a sharks fin aerial which cannot be bent out of the way - how does your rack deal with this?
Question by Franz Haidinger
The rack sits high enough off the roof so that it does not interfere with the Arial.
Answer by Front Runner
Other brands of roof platforms have a cutout over the radio aerial on the rear of the jeep, will this rack cause any loss of signal if it covers the aerial.
Question by John Hage
The aerial can either be manipulated to sit between two slats or it can be tucked in under the rack.
The rack does not cause any disturbance.
Answer by Front Runner
Jeep specify the roof load of the wk2 as 68kg, your unit is 31kg leaving the total weight your rack can carry is 37kg.
Am I reading this wrong as this does not seem to be worth the effort.
Question by John Hage
All vehicles have a specification for roof loading. This is mainly for when using the factory tracks, rails and load bars. Our mounting systems are generally much stronger than the factory fitted parts & accessories.

Have a look at what we did with a Jeep Wrangler JK with the composite plastic roof.
Answer by Front Runner
Hi, what is the rated weight (static and dynamic) of the KRJG004T Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 roof racks? Thank you.
Question by Warren Bassett
While the rack is designed to carry very heavy loads in excess of 300kg’s under testing on a bench, which is way more than your vehicle can safely carry. You need to take your vehicles handling capabilities and carrying strength into account. Please check with your vehicle manufacture for the recommended load carrying capacity of your roof.

We suggest that you consult your vehicle owner's manual to determine your specific vehicle's Safe Working Load weight.
Answer by Front Runner
Bought some FR load bars from you. at the time you mentioned being able to purchase parts to upgrade to a full slimline II. Do you have any more details about that?or would I need to buy the full SlimLIne II kit and just have my load bars as extras
Question by Ted Hill
It is possible. It would be best to contact us by phone and we can make sure you get all the components you need.

Installation Review by Bcjohnson44
Definitely does not take 30 minutes to install. It's a good product, but the installation is not nearly as easy as the instructions claim. (Posted on 26/05/2018)
