FRONT RUNNER FAVORITES
Over the last nearly 25 years, Front Runner has developed a reputation for making roof racks and gear that can handle harsh conditions. You name the place, and our products have been there, from South America’s Atacama Desert to South Africa’s Wild Coast.
To mark this milestone, we asked some of the adventurers and influencers who’ve faithfully been using our products to pick their one favorite Front Runner product and tell us why they love it. This is what they had to say…

Kingsley Holgate: The Front Runner Roof Rack is, without a doubt, one of the most essential pieces of expedition equipment, and the ability to have so many accessories attached to it makes it a real game-changer. These include an awning, spade, sand ladders, extra fuel cans, water cans, tents, and the bulky, life-saving mosquito nets we distribute on our trips into Africa.

Yeti the Van: This rack was a huge game changer for us as we live in our van. It’s allowed us to maximize roof storage space, where we carry extra adventure gear like our surfboards and Wolf Pack Pro boxes. The rack is very low in profile, so it does not affect our van's overall height or fuel consumption.

Craig Kolesky: These versatile storage boxes are water and dust-resistant. I use them on every trip for the usual camp gear but often also for my drone. The custom foam dividers help to keep everything secure even when off-roading. I usually put my camera gear in them for safe storage.
Ronny Dahl: It has to be the stackable Wolf Pack Pro. I have about 6 of them, and they are all labeled, so I know what’s in them, and they go between my different vehicles. What makes them so good is that they seal so well, and they are dust and water resistant.

Stefan Edwards: It’s nearly perfect ergonomically—unlike many camp chairs, you can sit in the Expander for long periods without getting a dead leg. It’s the perfect height for eating or rebuilding an alternator at a table.
I have fond memories of Expander Chairs since we used them during our first trips into the African wilderness. There, we spent many hours sitting around campfires, gazing at the Southern Cross, and listening to the lions in the distance. It’s hard to separate those experiences from the chairs themselves.

Alex Shapiro: The Under Rack Table comes in handy daily, from an impromptu desk to fine dining under the stars in the African bush. While shooting a TV commercial, my client needed a place to put laptops. I pulled my awning out, opened some Expander Chairs, and put some snacks on the Under Rack Table, creating the perfect workstation for them.

Bartek Kolaczkowski: I’m a big fan of the Tailgate Table. It’s perfect for a short coffee or snack break on the road. It sets up super quickly and is helpful in many different situations.
Kingsley Holgate: The Drop Down Tailgate Table is perfect for tailgate lunches and food preparation. It also serves as an excellent sundowner bar.

David Steca: This is hands down my favorite Front Runner product. It never needs cleaning; you can use it as a secondary table. It’s always there and ready for use. It also has a distinctive look, yet somehow many people don’t know what it is. Once you have one, you’ll never travel without it again.

Andre Rerekura: We spend a lot of time on boats or in the Land Cruiser and the Typhoon Bag has been epic for all our gear storage in the salt and dust. We’ve really put it through its paces. You can tell it’s been made for the true adventurer.

Adrian Saffy: All the gear is fantastic, but the Gullwing Windows on the Defender or Land Cruisers were a game changer. Access to my kit is so simple now, thanks to the Gullwing.

Brooke Robinson: Sometimes, we go camping in the Land Rover, and other times, we take the VW Transporter. We need gear that effortlessly transitions between the two, and the Cutlery Set is my favorite because I like food and cooking, and it has everything I need to do just that. The recent addition of the BBQ/Braai tongs to the set makes it even better.
