EPIC 11 MONTH JOURNEY FROM CAPE TOWN TO LONDON

EPIC 11 MONTH JOURNEY FROM CAPE TOWN TO LONDON

- 2018-04-11

With only hours left until the start of the Rugby World Cup 2015 in England, the DHL Africa As One Journey has come to an end, after introducing the game of rugby and what it represents to 3,370 children across Africa.

The team of seven who embarked on an epic journey from Cape Town through Africa to London in October 2014 as part of DHL's Africa as One campaign, have finally arrived at their last stop after traveling through 45 countries.

A tour through Africa with such epic magnitude would not have been complete without the most advanced, versatile and extensive range of vehicle-based adventure travel accessories available on the planet.

Front Runner equipped the Africa as One team's vehicles with the necessary equipment to support them through their African journey. Even after 45 countries, 70 854 km's and a 102 border posts, the Front Runner SLIMLINE II Roof Rack looks as good as new. That's why our roof rack is "Born in Africa, Proven around the World."

In order to prepare the team, we ensured the vehicles were ready and equipped for the long distance journey. Racks and holders were specially installed on the vehicles, which ensured that the team had space to pack items such as spare wheels, gas bottles, transit bags, Flip Pop Tents, spades and camping equipment.

We also organized storage space inside the cars by installing drawer systems and provided the team with items such as chairs, cutlery kits, kettles, battery systems and portable fridges – all accessories needed for the rough African terrain.

When space is limited, adventurers need to make use of innovative solutions such as custom storage systems, and strong versatile roof racks that can carry the heavy loads as well as all support accessories. We believe that the additional packing space and equipment has made the challenging journey across Africa more comfortable and easier for the team to endure.

"Every step of the journey, every person, every place and every pass was captured on film, in photographs and words, and shared with Africa and the rest of the world." Have a look at the gallery here or read about the campaign.
