From Slimline II to Slimsport
I previously owned a Slimline II rack which is currently discontinued. I loved its versatility and countless accessories; however, I needed something more sturdy for my type of off-road use.
While the Slimsport rack's installation isn't the most favored on a Subaru Crosstrek (half of the interior has to be removed ) once it's done, the pros definitely outweighs the cons.
I like how it has a shorter profile that's not only concrete jungle-friendly for parking garages, but also gives my lifted Crosstrek a lower center of gravity. The slot distances on the slats matches the Slimline II so there's no need to buy another case to re-drill holes. Lastly, the Slimsport has more mounting surface area than the Slimline II.
Overall, I am happy with the purchase and look forward to many adventures with it.
