Product Questions
I see in the spec sheet they measure a bit over 4" in height, in the product guide it states it will raise the overall height of the rack only 2.5" .. I'm assuming the 4" spec must include the height of the corners that are part of the rails.. Thanks for clarifying this, as I have 3" to spare at my carriage house door..
Question by: Donald
Hey Donald, You are correct. The product itself is 4 inches tall, but when installed it adds 2.5 inches of height to your Slimline II rack. Let us know if you need anything. Respectfully, Bryan Rush
Answer by: Front Runner
Is this compatible with the front runner roof top tent? Will both fit on the slim line II roof rack at the same time? Do you have any pictures of such a configuration?
Question by: Anthony
Anthony, Our expedition rails cannot be used in the area our Roof Top Tent tent will be folded open. The expedition rails will interfere with the platform folding all the way open. Many people will use the rails on the sides but not the rear and have the tent open up towards the rear. Best Regards, Bryan
Answer by: Front Runner
I wanted to see what kind of strength those rails provide and if the aluminum joints can handle weight such as grabbing the rail to pull myself up to the roof of a FJ Cruiser roof after stepping on the rear tire?
Question by: Tim
There is no measurable weight rating necessarily. But yes the cast aluminum joints can handle the weight of pulling yourself up from your rear tire and strapping loads down.
