Construction:

The Rigidised Stainless Steel finish is durable and scratch resistant. The internal surfaces are made of smooth stainless steel. The durability benefits are obvious compared to plastic fridges, but it also gives National Luna fridges better cooling ability.

High Impact Plastic Lid Corners: To protect you vehicle interior, equipment and yourself from damage while loading or in transit.

40mm High Density Insulation: Metal cabinets and liners, plus a unique manufacturing process allow foam to be injected under high pressure giving denser, more effective insulation maximizing interior space and reducing overall dimensions.

Full Surround Cooling Plate: While plastic fridges use a separate metal 'refrigeration plate', National Luna's Weekender design uses the entire perimeter as a cooling plate keeping temperatures stable across the whole of the interior, cutting run times and reducing 'pull down' when new food is added. With more cooling area and more effective insulation, National Luna fridges cool faster and stay cold longer with minimum power.

Dual Direction Lid: The Weekender Series fridge / freezers come with the option to change the direction of the lid. The lid can side open, or open for the end of the unit if you application requires it. Your choice. Three hinge cover plates are supplied for covering the unused hinge holes.

Electronics:

Battery Monitor and Protection: The Weekender is equipped with a battery monitor and low-battery protection circuit. The battery monitor is intended to give an estimate of the available remaining energy in a 12-volt lead-acid battery. The monitor has a built-in low voltage alarm which provides audible warning of a low battery condition. Combined with the battery monitor is a 3-stage battery protection control. This feature is used to prevent the connected battery from being excessively discharged.

12/24Vdc & 120Vac Power Pack: Low battery cut-out, self-diagnostic displays, plus automatic AC/DC switching as standard - when 120v AC is available the controller automatically switches over without having to disconnect the DC lead.

Electronic Thermostat: The programmable intelligent controller allows you to set the exact temperature you want, displays the current fridge temperature, and gives you the option of manually selecting Turbo mode.

Turbo Mode: Hooked to the mains, or in a vehicle with the engine running, the intelligent controller automatically runs the compressor in high-speed Turbo mode to maximize cooling efficiency. When the engine is off and the battery is not being charged, the controller automatically switches to the power saving mode to minimize battery drain.

Danfoss BD35F Compressor: The largest European manufacturer of compressors have created this ultra high efficiency unit with variable speed capability, thereby using very little current draw from the battery.

Status Indicators: Status lights let you know the source of power to you unit, and include Mains, Run, and Fault ID.

Reverse Polarity: An indicator light on the control panel with alert you if there is a reversed polarity connection to the unit.

Power Pack Over Temperature: In the event that the fridge electronics overheat, a cooling fan will be activated. If the fan cooling is insufficient to correct the error, the refrigerators’ compressor will automatically slow-down (over temperature light will flash). If temperatures continue to increase, the refrigerator will be shut-down as protective feature (over-temperature light will be permanently illuminated).

Temperature Gauge: A digital temperature gauge informs you of the current internal temperature +/- 2 degrees.

Removable Cables: either of the 120V and 12/24V cables can be unplugged from the unit if either is not in use.
