Our roof top tents mount easily to the Front Runner Slimline Roof Rack as well as many other standard racks and bars. Some applications may require additional brackets or adaptors.
If you are mounting a Roof Top Tent to the Front Runner Slimline Roof Rack you will need to use either the Front Runner Tent Mount Kit (FRTENT16)

or the Front Runner Quick Release Tent Mount Kit (FRTENT02).
In some situations where a complete roof rack is not needed (ie. mounting the tent over the bed of a pick-up truck), you can mount these tents to a set of load bars. In this case, we suggest you purchase the Front Runner Pick Up Truck Load Bar Kit.
If you are mounting your tent to a tubular steel rack, vehicle factory rack, or load bars that are oval/rectangular, you can use the brackets included with the tents as long as your bars/slats are no larger than 2” wide x 1.25” high.
Roof top tents will NOT mount to any roof racks that are baskets or have raised edges such as a rail.

We must ship all Roof Top Tents Freight due to the size of the product.
There are several factors that go into the shipping cost: model of tent, commercial/residential delivery, and lift gate needed or not.
1) The cheapest scenario is to request that your shipment is held at the closest Fed Ex LTL facility for pickup.
2) The next cheapest option is delivery to a commercial address with a dock or a forklift availability.
3) Residential delivery is an additional charge, as is a lift gate service. If you don’t have extra bodies to help lift the tent off the truck, you will need a lift gate.
Please call if you'd like to arrange shipment using your own shipper or if you would like to pick up the tent from our Burbank, CA warehouse.
If you'd like to ship our roof racks and/ or roof top tents to Hawaii or Alaska, please contact us directly at 1.866.840.0321.
ABOUT ROOF TOP TENTS
You're probably thinking -- a tent on the roof of a car? Really?
Sleeping up off the ground isn't anything new. You do it every night. If it makes sense at home, why shouldn't you have the same convenience on a vacation?
Roof top mounted tents have been a standard in camping around the world for several decades. It offers 2 huge advantages over sleeping on the ground:
ONE) keeps you and the tent clear of critters and weather elements.
TWO) provides a quick and effortless bedroom set up and break down.
All our roof top tents come standard with a foam sleeping pad, so all you need to do is add pillows and sleeping bags, or sheets and a comforter, and you'll have an instant, safe, comfortable sleeping solution.
The tent stores on your vehicle's roof top collapsed, folded in half, with all your sleeping accessories (even your pajamas), inside. When you want to set up camp, all you have to do is remove the protective cover, fold open the tent with one simple motion and you'll be relaxing in no time. Instant comfort. Instant Zzzzz's.
And if it rains, you'll no longer have to worry about water pooling around the tent and folding up a muddy tent after a terrible night's sleep. (There's nothing better than enjoying a passing storm from a cozy, dry, raised tent!)
With a roof top tent you can sleep comfortably in uneven and rocky terrain - places where sleeping on the ground is either not possible or suitable. And the tents can be configured to open up over the rear of the vehicle, either side, or even over the hood.
Roof top tents are cheaper and more convenient than a travel trailer and ideal for both long vacations and as an alternative to short hotel stays. And having a roof top tent frees up space inside your vehicle. Think of what you can do with that extra storage room once you remove the bedding and tent from the pack.
We carry the Front Runner Feather-lite Tent -- the industry's lightest and lowest profile roof top tent, and the most popular models of Eezi Awn - the world's leader in roof top tents.
