The Front Runner Slimline Roof Rack bolts effortlessly to 3 types of vehicle roof top mounting systems.
• GUTTER MOUNT LEGS

For vehicles with rain gutters, Front Runner has designed a variety of aluminum legs that fasten securely to the vehicle’s rain gutter. Front Runner’s Legs are fabricated to contour to the shape of the vehicle and bolt to the bottom t-slot surface of the rack slats. They are powder coated black and range in height from 120mm to 270mm.
• TRACK MOUNTED FEET
For vehicles without gutters, Front Runner has designed a track that mounts on the vehicle's roof and accepts specially designed powder coated stainless steel feet to solidly bridge the gap from roof to rack. The track is available in a variety of lengths and contours designed for specific vehicles, and can even be purchased and custom cut for specialty mounting situations. The track can also be installed on truck caps, camper shells, as well as on the Jeep Wrangler hard tops.
The powder coated, rubber lined, galvanized track evenly distributes the weight of the rack along the full length of the vehicle roof to ensure proper load distribution..jpg)
The feet are manufactured out of stainless steel to prevent rust, then powder coated, ensuring years and years of service. The feet are made up of 2 pieces and slotted to allow for adjustments based on vehicle roof curvature. The feet come in 40mm, 50mm, 60mm, 70mm, 80mm heights.
HINT -- you can use taller sized feet to create more room under the rack for accessories such as ladders, Front Runner’s Stainless Steel Camping Tables and Solar Panel mounts.
• GRAB-ON FEET

If you’d like to incorporate your existing factory roof racks or rails into the mounting system, Front Runner offers adjustable powder coated, stainless steel clamps with rubber linings.
The Front Runner Grab-On Feet bolt onto the t-slots on the underside of the rack and clamp onto any factory roof rack round bars between 1" and 1-1/2" in diameter, or any oval bars up to 1-1/2" tall by 2" wide.
While the Front Runner Grab-On Foot mounted roof racks are not designed to carry full jerry cans, water containers, and other heavy point load items, the Grab-On Foot mounting system is perfect for roof top tents, transit bags, Front Runner’s Expander Chairs, bikes, kayaks, and bulky, lightweight items like clothes.
If you own a pick-up truck, you can mount a rack on the roof top of the cab or camper shell (using one of the above mounting systems), or over the open bed using Front Runner’s “Pick-Up Bed Mount Legs.” These 270mm high all steel black powder coated legs bolt to the rail of the bed and can support both the Front Runner Slimline Roof Rack (the legs bolt to the underside t-slot of the rack) or the Front Runner Load Bars. The rack or load bars will sit 10.5 inches above the bed for a simple accessory or rooftop tent mounting solution.

All mounting solutions allow the Front Runner Slimline Rack to be effortlessly removed. At most, all you need is 2 wrenches and 10 minutes for a rack free vehicle.
Most of our roof racks are sold in vehicle specific kits with the appropriate mounting solution and all necessary hardware included. If you would like to purchase the rack and mounting solutions separate for a custom installation, you can do that also. Just call or email in your request.
If necessary, extra feet can be added to support heavier loads.

You may not have the need for a full roof rack and find that you can get by using a set of Front Runner Load Bars. The Load Bars are ideal for mounting a roof tent or other accessories where a low profile and smaller footprint is preferred.

The Load Bars utilize the same 22mm thick HD aluminum extrusions (slats) as the Slimline Roof Rack. The sliding nut t-slots allow quick fit and removal of accessories and equipment. The t-slots are located on both the upper and lower faces of the load bars and are used for the mounting the feet as well as accessories.
All of the vehicle mounting options can be used to mount the Front Runner Load Bars.
