Sometimes traveling with a spare alone isn’t enough. Before heading off on your next adventure, make sure you’re prepared to fix a flat in the field.
This kit provides all the tools necessary for basic puncture and tear repair.
If you're fixing a flat on the road, you'll need a compressor and and a pressure gauge (your compressor should have one built in).
These self sealing strips plug sidewall and tread punctures perfectly and permanently. You can continue to use your tire instead of throwing it away.
You can even fix gashes in the sidewall as large as 2 inches by adding more and more strips until the air stops escaping.
Here’s how:
1) Use the abrasive T- handle rasp to to probe and clear out the hole or tear.
2) Thread the 4” long healing strip into the eye/cut out of the T-handle insert tool.
3) Apply a small amount of the sealing lubricant to the plug strip.
4) push the point of the T-handle and 4” strip firmly through the hole or tear until about 1/2” remains outside the tire.
5) jerk back the inserting tool with one swift move. The strip will stay in the hole.
6) Fill up the tire to the proper PSI.
7) Cut off the protruding ends of the plug strips.
Kick the tire. Then hit the road. You’re plugged and ready to go.
Here's an oddly charming, low-fi and non-affiliated video on how to use a similar tire repair kit: YOUTUBE TIRE REPAIR VIDEO
